Welcome to the Third Annual Dia de los Muertos 5K, presented by Marion County Gator Club. We are so excited about our new race partner that we got carried away AGAIN! This fun fundraiser will help provide scholarships to local students attending the University of Florida.

NEWS FLASH! the first 150 runners to cross the finish line will receive a Dia de los Muertos GATOR SKULL medal, pictured below. No alligators were harmed in the drafting of this design.
We will hold pre race packet pick up on Friday Oct 24, 2025 from 3 to 6 pm at BASELINE TRAILHEAD. Race day pick up will begin at 7am. We encourage you to pick up your packets early. (Get there EARLY to get your cooling towel...supply is limited!)
Dia de los Muertos is a traditional holiday that takes place in Mexico at the end of October. Its been embraced by the world because of its uplifting message. Some experts believe that the roots of the holiday are from Medieval Europe derived from the feast days, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Wherever the origins, Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of the lives of loved ones that have passed on. The colorful costumes, music and food are a remembrance of the joy we shared with those family and friends. In this spirit, we invite you to join us at this festive event!
Registration
5K and Virtual Early registration is $35 until midnight Oct 15, 2025. Late registration is $40 until Friday Oct 24, 2025 at 6pm when online registration closes. Race day registration will be $45 cash or check only and your shirt is not guaranteed.
The Fun Run for those 12 and under is $15 early registration and $18 late registration. Same cut off dates as the 5K. The Fun Run will include a medal and a shirt.

The 5K will start at 8 am sharp and the Fun Run will start at 8:45 to 8:50. Awards will begin no later then 9am.

We have gotten so many generous donations of prizes this year. Thank you so much to the Ocala community for embracing this cause! There are so many ways to win! We will have 5K Top Male and Top Female, Age Group Awards, Finisher Raffles and Costume and Make up Contest!

You will end your run at the FULLY DECORATED THEMED FINISH CHUTE...perfect for your victory shots!

Stick around for the awards and have some pulled pork sliders on King Hawaiian rolls and some lemonade on us!
